A native of Florida, Christopher Melendez grew up with his family in Tallahassee. He graduated from Florida State University Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Entrepreneurship and utilized his skills to manage his family’s business. After gaining over 10 years of business management experience, he decided to pursue his interest in law. He attended Florida Coastal School of Law.

After law school, Christopher passed the bar and was admitted to practice law in Florida. He joined the North Florida Legal Services, helping with the underprivileged loan modifications, government aid applications, and defending eviction proceedings and debt collections. He moved to south Florida in 2014, pursuing work in Mortgage Foreclosure Defense.
In 2015, Christopher returned to Tallahassee, continuing his work to advocate for the voiceless. He worked with the residents of Leon and surrounding areas, offering affordable legal services in matters such as immigration, family law, and bankruptcy.

Christopher joined The Virga Law Firm, P.A. in 2016, where he continues to represent families in stressful cases. His extensive business work and efforts representing disadvantaged communities gave him strong conflict resolution skills. Christopher has experience in deescalating tense situations and working towards a mutual goal. He has seen firsthand how the disintegration of a marriage can affect a family. As a family law attorney in Fort Walton, he uses his insight and skill to speak up on behalf of his clients.
